»The Gods Were Astronauts«, 2002

Archeologists in Houston, Texas made lately an sensational finding: A chinese mask that supposably comes from the chinese village Sha-Shi in the province of Wu-han. It carries the inscription which could be pronounced like: »Go to Rimini and search there.«
Some praeastronautical scientists suppose that there might be a connection between this mask and the NASA station in Houston and the riual dances in Sha-shi, and outer space.
The reason which proofs the thesis of this connection is the parallel location of these areas: Houston and Sha-shi are both 5602 miles far away from Rimini. And both of these areas are as well on the same lines of latitude: 290 584….
On the 3rd of July archeologists of the University of Texas began their excavations in the city park. (pictures)
There was a diary written by Klara Hobza in relation to this exclavations.
Klara: »The worst thing here is that people don´t believe!«

»Morse code«, 2003

Using my studio space with it's large windows over viewing 125th street I am sending light messages using Morse code.

My light signals can be seen by hundreds of apartments surrounding the studio, as well as the people passing by in the subway.
Communicating via light signals gives me simultaneous access to estimated 1000 people at once them that I otherwise wouldn't get. I'm hoping to get a reply from one of the surrounding windows.

I introduce quotes from Samuel Morse that I found in his letters archived in the Library of Congress.
I start with his visions on his new invention, euphorically talking about a revolution of communication, and how his code is able to prevent the war.
I quote Morse trying to prevent his code to fall into the hands of corporations causing evil.
Having been a painter and art professor himself he wrote about how to construct the perfect painting.
Another text I would like to use is a highly emotional letter to his friend Cooper describing in a despairing tone how and why he is giving up painting.

In between these longer streamings I will continue my original messages, trying to get into touch with people.

Currently I’m setting up a website, where people can type in their message, and then see it translated into Morse code and streamed through my windows.
